Yes, it’s really happening, the Pitch-Competition “We Can StartUp” is coming in October.
The Place Berlin is very excited to invite you to the second-edition of the Pitch-Competition, called “We can StartUp: Tech Edition”. This time the competition will exclusively focus on female entrepreneurship in deep-tech field.
With this initiative we want to change the existing landscape mainly dominated by male entrepreneurs through promoting, supporting and guiding female founders to fulfill their potential as entrepreneurs, as well as to encourage more women to start up.
In comparison to the first edition of “We Can StartUp”, where we aimed to empower female founders in every field, the upcoming event narrows down the competition to particular tech-topics. This allow us and the participants to tackle more specific areas and reach high-caliber engagement from the audience.
If you want to enter the competition and get an amazing opportunity to join our community as well as to get a desk for free for three month at The Place, please submit your application with all the requirements described below.
The countdown has begun.
Believe it or not, but the startup ecosystem, especially the tech field, is mostly led by male entrepreneurs. Now it is interesting to know what caused this result and what should be done to balance out the startup landscape in the future?
Having noticed this tendency, The Place Berlin decided to encourage women even more to embrace this field and to become entrepreneurs. For this reason, we want to hold more bright female founders at The Place, where we provide them with the right tools to “Connect, Collaborate & Co-innovate” in order to harness great ideas and turn the craziest of dreams into reality.
Moreover, with this event series we want to speak up against this evident gender gap, find the reasons of this imbalance and create a movement to avoid this tendency in the future.
To enter the competition, there are two requirements:
1. Your Startup is in deep tech, a technology based on tangible disruptive engineering innovation or scientific advances and discoveries. On the technological front, these can include processing and computing architecture innovations, advances in electronic systems, vision and speech algorithms techniques, artificial intelligence, blockchain, machine learning, and more.
2. It is founded (or co-founded) by a female entrepreneur.
Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with: a short description of you and your team/ a pitch deck and contact details (phone + LinkedIn).
By October of 16th, all the applications will be reviewed and the 5 most innovative and interesting tech startups will get the chance to pitch in front of our great audience and expert jury.
The top 3 teams will win 3 months of free fix membership at The Place and the opportunity to be part of our Community.
In addition, we offer to the winners all of our in-house benefits – such as The Smarts, our mentorship program; hackathons, meetups, workshops, seminars – and access to our Network to help their business grow.
